Clinical Research Center

A phase 1 clinical trial is a scientific study testing products in healthy human volunteers. There are many types of these trials. The Saint Anthony Memorial Clinical Research Center will be focusing on testing new formulations of previously approved products. The goal of these studies is to determine how each drug is absorbed and metabolized in the body. These types of studies are referred to as bioequivalence or bioavailability studies.

In bioequivalence studies, two drugs with identical active ingredients are evaluated to determine their equality in the body. In bioavailablitiy studies, the two drugs would be evaluated to determine their absorption properties in the body.

All of the products involved in phase 1 clinical trials have been rigorously tested in other similar clinical trials and have received FDA approval for use and further testing.

Saint Anthony Memorial is introducing this research initiative to help promote the development of generic medicines to the public. This program will evaluate generic alternatives to the brand name products through the bioequivalence and bioavilability testing in healthy subjects. Dr. Maurice Ndukwu will head the Research Center as the Principal Investigator for these studies. The Research Center will be located within Saint Anthony Memorial Hospital on the 5th floor.

The Research Center is currently reaching out to men and women 18 years of age or older who are in good health. These Subjects will be provided health evaluations including physical and laboratory assessments at no charge. All Subjects will also be financially compensated for their participation in the studies. For those who are interested in learning more about these upcoming opportunities please contact 800-931-3322 for more information and to sign up.
