Spiritual Care Services

The Spiritual Care Department at Saint Anthony Memorial provides services essential to the care and treatment of patients that encompasses the whole person. The holistic approach to medicine recognizes that for a healthy state to exist there must be a balance between the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the individual. These needs are all interrelated and events that negatively impact one area can cause an imbalance in other aspects of the total person.

The Spiritual Care Department seeks to provide for the spiritual needs of our patients, patients’ families and loved ones through personal contact in offering prayer and pastoral counseling. The Ecumenical spiritual care team consists of multi-denominational chaplains, priests, ministers, pastoral visitors, Eucharistic ministers and volunteers. Additionally, the spiritual care team provides information on and assistance with completing Advance Directives.

Spiritual care services are available 24 hours a day and the spiritual care team can be reached at 219/877-1440 or by contacting the hospital operator.
